I like Trump's idea of turning the Gaza Strip into a fabulous resort area. I visited the Gaza Strip, as a guest of the Israeli Army, before Israel turned Gaza over to the Palestinian Arabs in a "land for peace" deal. (How'd that go?) At that time it had one of the loveliest beaches I've seen. I believe the area has gone downhill since then. It would be wonderful if it could be restored to its former pristine beauty.
Sending the Palestinian Arabs to Egypt and/or Jordan, as proposed by Trump, is dicey. These U.S. allies are not in such great shape politically or economically. Injecting 2+ million jihadist crazies, including tens of thousands of hardened terrorists, into their midst might well tip them over the edge into revolution.
The Houthis have been expressing their profound love for Palestine by attacking shipping in the Red Sea for the past year or so. According to one U.S. commander the United States has responded by "catching, but not pitching". In practice this means shooting down $20 drones with $2 million dollar missiles while leaving the enemy completely unmolested. This is woke warfare: Never, ever attack the enemy because you might cause civilian casualties, and never, ever win because winning might make the enemy feel unsafe.
The present moment is propitious for trying something a little different. I propose these steps:
1) Bomb the shit out of the Houthis so that they cease to exist as a viable force.
2) Ship the Palestinian Arabs to Yemen.
3) Change the name of Yemen to Palestine.
Voila: A Palestinian state! Problem solved.
